Sparrow Live Presents: A Few Of Our Favorite Things
Time & Location
About the Event
When Jean and I were talking about what to program as our second Sparrow Live concert there were literally dozens of ideas that came up. Hopefully, many of those programs will come to life as future Sparrow Live programs, but the one idea that kept surfacing was that of a concert of some of the great art song repertoire that one or both of us have performed many times before but have not had the opportunity to perform together. The program includes works by Ravel, Burleigh, Robert Schumann, Brahms, Wolf, Richard Strauss, Hoiby, Butterworth, and Billy Joel.
It centers loosely around love and relationships, including songs that Robert Schumann and Richard Strauss wrote as wedding gifts to their brides (Clara and Pauline). Since great art song is part of what brought us together as a couple, and since the pandemic is still giving us an extra-long engagement, we thought it only fitting to program “A Few Of Our Favorite Things”. We hope you can join us on December 4th at 7:30pm eastern time/6:30 central on the Sparrow Live platform! We are so excited about sharing this beautiful repertoire with you!
